Most traders on the internet include a certain amount of legal information about their operations on their web sites. We include here what we hope is useful information to visitors to our site, in easy to understand English. If you have any questions about who we are and how we work please get in touch.
Basic Business Information
Single Speed Components is a trading name used by the business Shacklewell Components. Shacklewell Components is a Sole Trader business owned and run by me, Matt Templeton. The business is registered at the following address: Arch 222, Grove Green Road, Leytonstone, London E11 4AJ.
Note that the address above is not a shop, but it is where letters to the business should be sent. Feel free to address correspondence to Single Speed Components, Shacklewell Components, or direct to me Matt Templeton, all to the above address.
Privacy and Information Management
We will not pass on data about our customers to anyone else for commercial or any other purposes (other than in the extremely unlikely case of this being demanded by the authorities). Basic customer information is held on our files for our own records and for no one else.
We may from time to time use your contact details to let you know about new products, services or offers we have. We will limit this as we respect your ability to remember us and choose whether to come back of your own accord. But if you don't want even the small amount of messaging we send then we will happily stop - just send us a one line email or get in touch some other way.
Terms and Conditions for Users of this Site
Please note that the information in this section does not impact on your statutory rights.
We do not have a detailed, published list of terms and conditions for users of this site.
Instead we would like to emphasise two elements of our basic business practice which mirror our position with respect to dealing with returns (outlined above).
1. We have a single rule which we follow when doing business: to treat our customers (and other partners) in the way we would expect to be treated if we were them.
2. We will work within consumer laws regulating our activities. We think the service we give will be better than that required.
We do think it is necessary for us to be explicit about one aspect of how we want to work with users of this site:
When you make a purchase at this website you will have the option to register with Single Speed Components, a process which allows you to create a password. If you take this option then you must keep this password confidential and must not disclose it or share it with anyone. You will be responsible for all activities and orders that occur or are submitted under your password. If you know or suspect that someone else knows your password then you should notify us by contacting us as soon as possible.
If we have reason to believe that there is likely to be a breach of security or misuse of the Single Speed Components website, we may require you to change your password or we may suspend your account.
